Odessey PC545 battery, is it man enough for a pinto install?

Hi Chaps

As per the question really, will this battery be man enough to start my pinto powered fury? Anyone got one on their pinto engine install?

I run quite a low compression engine as its turbo charged and a standard pinto starter. I've got the battery 'in stock' so its this or the standard car battery which I have on there! I need to change the connectors else I would just try it!

What's the consensus, standard or the Odessey?

Thanks!

Yep thanks iiyama, I'm aware of the figures, just wanted real world experience with this small a battery. Have you used one yourself in a CEC application? Will my alternator be too big for it as well?

Hi

Personally i only ever use the Odyssey PC625 these days. This has worked well with quite a bit of abuse thrown at it. Ie starting and stopping of the race engines which can sometimes be a PITA to start when on 40's etc. Would not go back to using the red top type ones again they are too fragile compared to the Odyssey ones.

Cheers Matt

Battery is rated @ 14ah which most car batteries are, so your altenator will be fine. Whats the cranking amps of the OEM battery? Will be a lot less then the odessey I bet.

Regarding using one, yes I have one in my car although its turning a Busa motor. Could probably have gone down a size for my uses.
