Fuel gauge fluctuation
I'm getting irregular readings on my fuel gauge, but only when on 1/2 tank or more.
This is deffinatly a Megajolt issue as i had no prblems with the old pinto set up,shielded more wires but still the same problem but never when only a
couple of gallons. MJ box is about 8"s from the gauge and i have tried today on my run out a cover (aluminium/cloth type) around the MJ box but
no luck.
I have yet to check if i have an earthing point which may have a reaction but i am pretty sure the MJ and electrics related to it are all seprate
earths.
Any clues ?

This is electrical wierdness at its best, when a gallon or two is in the tank its fine but when between half ish and full the needle pings back and
forth like a pinball machine rocker and then now and then runs stable. Its deffinatly when there is more resistance on the dip sender at full as its
fine when low on fuel. Reads perfect when engines off

so to summarise, with ignition on, the guage reads steady.
once you have the engine running, the needle goes mental?
and it only happens if you have more than 1/2 tank full?

I'll have a fiddle at the weekend, a good rummage around the wires with the dash off is in order i think.
I have had a play at tank end and checked the dip sender for free movement, renewed the connection at tank and re earthed.
tank baffle shouldnt be an issue as the gauge was fine when the pinto was in,which now has me thinking it might be the R1 fuel pump next to
tank.(another investigation in the back i think)
