zx14 wiring help please?

Hi,

I am having some difficulty getting the zx14 engine to start. Ill let you know what Ive tried and any suggestions would help please.

Neutral (earthed - and open)
Side stand switch (earthed and open)
Stop switch (made and un made)
Up unit (is up, and various other positions)

Immobiliser key unit is being used.
All loom plugs are connected.

Things it could be:
The kawasaki dash isn't plugged in?
I have a lamda sensor in the exhaust but no corresponding plug anywhere on the wiring loom?

Perhaps some wires to the original dash need shorting/12v/earthing?

Any suggestions would help especially if you have had the same issue

Thanks in advance Gareth

Are you using the original key switch?
If not you will need to add a 100 Ohm resistor into the grey wire to the ECU.

Luckily the ZX14 I wired had a USA spec ECU with no immobiliser.

If you are not running the clocks you only need to supply the speed sensor with +12volts (pink wire) - but this would not prevent the engine from starting (just gives a low rev limit).

Does anything happen when you switch on?
Fuel pump priming, secondary butterflies actuating?

We are using the original key unit.

Nothing happens when we turn the ignition on. We would expect something like the butterflys to move and the pump to whir but nothing happens.

Its like something isn't satisfied in the ecu or the immobiliser isn't switching off?
