Am having trouble wiring in a smiths tacho

while surfing, i stumbled across this other forum which had the following thread

you never know it might help.

Fixed the tacho, i had the wire from the coil where the wire to the distributor should be, and visa versa
Now showing it ticking over at a nice 850 rpm approx
