I need a water temp sender unit adaptor
I've got a Bosch water temperature sender unit which has a 1/8"BSP thread and I need it to fit my Duratec which has a M18 hole.
Does anyone know if adaptors are available in this combination? I can find 1/8"NPT but not BSP (apparently 1 tpi different but enough to make it
useless)
Cheers,
Raz

BTW Water temperature senders are normally 1/8 npt....
Have you tried putting some ptfe tape on it and bolting it in?

I hadn't thought of that!

I was under this impression too - its just that the supplier told me it was bsp and I cant find any specs on the Bosch sender units to double check.
The size difference between the sender unit and the hole is too big to try and bodge it with ptfe tape - I would rather make a proper adaptor
.

Meant for the npt/bsp mismatch
Out of interest, who was the supplier?

nptf of bsp, that is the question.
idameter of 1/8 bsp is about 9.5 mm
dia of 1/8 nptf is almost 10.0 mm.
also I thought mptf were tapered? so you should be able to tell whcih is is.
BSP stuff is domestic water heating - maybe there is somenitng in B&Q that you could use?
VWP do adapters from 1/8 nptf to m14,m16,m18
or buy sender with correct thread!!

That just confuses me more because the sender unit I am holding is 12mm according to my cheap vernier gauge!
It is not tapered so is might well be bsp.
