I've got really loud air horns on my car - and I'm reluctant to use them as they just antagonise people.
You tend to get an "Aaaargh!...... you b*st*rd!!" reaction.
Just my 2p's worth.
Last time I used my horn I was taxi-ing. Now I want to antagonise the people who are trying to park in my boot or cut through me to get to the other
lane... If I could get a horn that knocked them out for 5 mins I'd have one

I have a klaxon which I used to have in my van and it really makes them sit up. The noise makes me laugh it's a sort of AAAh OOOO Gaaah
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Yeah where did you get that from? I've seen some "old style" ones that sound similar but I take it yours is more air raid siren
style..
Reminds me of Red Dwarf when Cat asks everyone to join him in a quick-step to the Awooga waltz

+10Db is NOT Double!
+20Db is 100 Times
-20Db is divice by 20 times
The DB's are a logarithmic unit that does not follow a straight line. (Any old person who used Log Tables at school - Before electronic
calculators were invented) will know this.
They are purely a ratio.
This depends entirely on if you are refering to sound power or perceived sound levels.
A 3dB increase is a doubling of power, but it takes a 10dB increase to get a perceived doubling of volume because of the logarithmic response of the
human ear.
