Which battery?
Not being good at the electrics, i thought id ask before i go out and buy one. Due to the lack of electrical equipment in out cars, can we get away
with just using any battery or does it need to be the same one as was in the donor?
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Redtop 25 on my zetec install. Nice and neat, hidden in the passenger footwell. Never discharged through the 1.5 year build.

You should not need the huge jag battery as no electrical items, windows, A/C seats etc to worry about, just get something that will spin it over.
Usual suspect is diesel fiesta battery.

Its just a step in the bulkhead round the type 9, the other side of the glands is the engine bay. I used the glands as a neat way to go through the
bulkhead and the shiny bit securing the battery is the side of an old deep fat fryer
The whole lot is covered by an extra aluminum sheet folded round and velcro'd in place. SVA man was nodding his head in approval when I peeled
it off to reveal the battery.
Varley Red Top 25 High Performance Racing Battery. Can be fitted upright or on their side. Red Top 25 is rated 12volts, 16 amp hour with M6 female
terminals. Weighs 6.1Kg, measures 182mm x 77mm x 168mm Cranking current 680A .
Should be able to run the Jag engine but please check if the cranking current is enough.
Battery is specified for a Buell (big V twin bike) as well.

The one I had for my pinto turned out to be a bit feeble for my straight six. I bought a battery of the same size but 100 more amps power and it turns
it over much better
