Autoloc speedo

Speedo has me puzzled.

There are several posts on the back, and a group of wires included. The instructions are useless. I can't understand them.

Wires: 1. green/yellow
2. Blue
3. Brown

"Wiring the Speedometer" (according to the instruction sheet)
1. Prepare the insulated 1/4" spade terminals for use by ensuring all wires are long enough to reach the necessary points. This was very informative he said sarcastically.

2. Connect switch 12v+ and yellow wire from hall effect sensor to terminal 4 on back of speedo.

3. Connect green wire from hall effect sensor to terminal 3 on back of speedo. Also connect terminal 3 to a good constant ground.

4. Connect red wire from hall effect sensor to terminal 2 on back of speedo.

Problems:
A) There are NO separate yellow and green wires; they are one.

B) I was told by the guy who did my engine wiring that I don't need a hall effect sensor, the plug from the speedo goes into a plug off the tranny. Easy for him to say. I still need to know which terminals on the speedo take which wire.

C) I don't have a red wire.

I am completely at a loss to understand any of this.

All my other instruments except the voltmeter are hooked up to everything but power and their respective sensors and ought to work.

Don't have to understand it, as it turns out. A call to Oregon sorted it . The plug from the transmission included is arranged in a particular way and the other end is clear as to which wires go to which pole on the speedo.

So check the Hoffman Group site for the UK number if anybody has this system.
