1.6cvh Electronic Module on Dizzy - Can get No Spark !!!

Can any one help I can't get a spark,

I have 12 V going to the coil, the coil HT connected to the dizzy then dizzy connected to a plug, the plug grounded,

On the dizzy is a small black module on top of the dizzy, This has 3 wires - haynes says :

---------
| + 0 - |
---------

So does this means Left pin +12V midddle 0v and Right pin GND?

Is this as you look into the module or the plug that goes into the module?

Cvh spark

I thinkthe black module you are looking at is the amplifer.Think of it as replacing the pionts set up.It picks up the rotation of the dizzy and fires the coil accordingly. If it doesn't have a good clean seat to the dizzy body, signals are lost.Remove/clean and retry. It won't cost anything to do.

Your right about one thing (it won't cost anything to re-seat it ) but I guess I need to power it first - Anyone got the correct way to power it up. I don't like smoke.

i thought the device on the distributer was an inductive trigger. as TPG says though it fires the coil. The module on mine (which i think is a cvh 1.6) has 6 wires: earth, cranking live, running live, one to the coil and 2 to the trigger. if you want i can have a look soon as mine is still in one piece.
