R1 wiring advice
Getting close to wiring my motor back up with an R1 5vy in, I'll be using my existing car loom for all the lights and the bike loom for the
engine, i'm running the R1 clocks so will need to do some bridging to get the warning lights on the clocks linked with the car loom and will be
thinning both looms out once I have it all up and running.
1 question which springs to mind is does the R1 clock have an ignition warning light like I'm used to have on the crossflow i.e. comes on with
the ignition, goes out when running, comes back on again when stalled or alternator isn't charging etc.
Presumably there are quite a few people who have done what I am about to start, any advice gratefully recieved.

5VY doesn't have an ignition light. However it does have an audible warning that the engine is running...about 100db!
You'll know if you stall it.
Get the engine up and running and then strip out what you don't need bit by bit. Keep trying the engine so if it won't start at some point
you know whats effected it (the last bit you did). This site will help a lot... http://www.robcollingridge.com/kitcar/design/engine/electrics.html
There's no problem spliceing into the dash warning lights for indicators, high beam and illumination of the dash, etc.
