Honda Civic alternator

Its a bit of a repeat request but I have more info, so hopefully someone knows the answer.
The alternator is a ND CHA51 , I believe it spins anti clock on the Honda but according to an earlier post that shouldn't matter. The crunch is it has four terminals in the plug, they are listed as D, FR, IG and L as well as the high power connector to the battery. Anyone know what to connect to where?. If anyone has a diagram for a Civic CRX 1.5 that may help.

googling for that model comes up with this:

and here:

so far L and IG are sorted.

and morre googling ...

FR = is a regulator output terminal that sends a “field response” signal to one or more of the on board computers. (PCM) It’s signal represents the “duty cycle” of or “how hard” the alternator is working.

I suggest you leave unconnected.

so just D left.......

woo hoo;

D - On later Mitsubishi alternators (Mazda 626/323 1997-) this connection is for is for managing the field, by a square-pulse DC. The regulator is a part of the engine computer system. damn computers!! OBS. Do not mix up this connection with the “dummy”. The shape of the plug is similar to one with the S and L. To make sure which Connection you have, measure with an ohm-meter between S/D and to the ground. Reading less than 1000 Ohm shows a “data “ connection.

If I were you, I would leave unconnected and see what happens.

Probably Rover 200 1.6 automatic -- they still used the Honda engine for a while.
