What's this wire? (on steering column)

Heyup everyone, removed the steering column from my donor earlier. Disconnected all the plugs etc only to find that there was one single wire still connected to the column.

The green one ran into a bunch of cables but was not connected to a plug, simply soldered here (I've offered the wire in place to show where it was). Tried cutting it off but the soldered joint broke.

The car has an alarm immobiliser fitted so i wondered if that's why it's not part of any standard loom etc. Also, just to give a bit of context, the black lever on the left of the pic is the lever used to raise and lower the height of the column when installed in the car.

its not the yellow, red or blue and black one

the yellow /black wire is a switched 12v supply isn't it, so im guessing the green wire was the same for something

ah fair do's, as long as it's nothing mega important (like an ejector seat) I'll trace the wire to wherever it goes and report back
