Bosch Starter Wiring

Have finally sorted out this prob. The "trigger" wire from the ign switch is connected to the Lucar (spade type) connector, on the left. The
feed directly from battery goes to the lower, large, nut-engaged terminal in the middle of the pic.
What should be connected to the smaller threaded terminal on the right?
I realise that this is probably blindingly obvious to some of you, but I just haven't figured it out. And I would like to get my Xflow started
before winter sets in.

I don't know for sure, but my first guess would be that it's the earth connection for the relay coil?

Balast resistor????? Didn't know I had to fit one.
Thanks for the info. Will have to rework the wiring.
2nd thought - Considered ballast resistor re ign circuit, but opted for sports coil, which I was advised didn't need one. So, do I leave that
smaller connector unconnected? Starter seems to kick in, using the spade terminal.

If your not using a ballast resistor coil then leave the Lucar connection disconnected

You don't have to have a ballast resistor if running a 12V coil so leave the small threaded terminal unused. Spade activates the starter
solenoid as you found out and batt pos fat wire to the lower large shiny nut. That's all you need.

Dusty, thanks for the confirmation.
Original starter works, (I've now discovered), and I had previously thought it knackered.
So I bought another off the Bay - and that evidently has to be triggered via the spade connector, also.
Talk about "trial & error" process!!!
