lighting amp question

OK its not for the car its for my motorbike. Current stock set up is a 65w high beam h7 bulb. If I replace this with a 35 HID unit, and fit a set of 40watt led spots, do you think its safe to tap these LED's off the the same feed, rather than an extra relay setup. In theory its less than 1amp extra being drawn.

If your reflector is not designed for HID you will not get better lights and will annoy a lot of people coming the other way. Motorbike adventures issue a disclaimer with the kits they sell :- Note:- that we do not claim to be legal experts and can give no advice as to the legality of operating any HID conversion (55 watt) or any other lighting modification due to the widely varying road regulations in different regions and countries. As with any aftermarket accessory, its up to the buyer to determine how he uses the HID kit. We sell HIDs for off road and farm use, Scuba Diving clubs, underwater pool lighting, photographic and film lighting. Some headlight reflectors designed for halogen bulbs do not react well to the HID light and occasionally after prolonged use, some marking of the reflectors may occur. Fitment of HID conversions and any associated after-effects are solely the responsibility of the buyer.
The extra load would not bother me, it's negligible.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I know all this, the tiger is fitted with projectors and many people do it without issue. I had them on my GS and never once got flashed, although the 55w kit did melt my reflector, hence the 35w kit for the tiger.
