cheap chinese tacho not working following accusparks points conversion

Hi, my points conversion went well, but now my tacho doesn't work. It was a £30 ebay job, so it's not the end of the world. I've got the signal wire wired up to the -ve. Is there a way for me to bodge it somehow? thanks

Not sure if its this type, but my chinese speedo was not hard to wire following this image:

Don't trust wire colours but wire position instead, and good luck

Apart from double checking your connections you can't really

Don't suppose you have a timing light with a tacho inbuilt of similar? That would prove that everything was otherwise ok
