Reversing Lights

Can anybody confirm that the reversing light switch on the type 9 gearbox switches live not earth

It will switch either depending on the way you wire it. Its just an on/off switch

Pretty sure its the live though, earthed at the light cluster

Vaguely on this topic - do you have to use a Sierra plug on the pins, or do bullet connectors fit?

i saved the plug that gose on it with a long bit of wire to go in to the engine bay hope it helps

if you switch live, it saves an earth wire through the transmission tunnel, but as has been said, it's just an on/off switch so doesnt make any difference.
