ARGGG second battery problems

After my first battery which hissed was thown out I thought my problems would be over when a friend gave me another motorcycle battery (Varta) which he had used rarely about 8 months ago, it looks fine, i've topped up the water, tried to charge it but my automatic battery charger wouldn't charge it (it only starts charging when both terminals are connected to the battery, I tested the charger on a few other batteries and it worked perfectly.

Its like the battery is just dead, but its had a really easy life and always kept at room temp??

Whats going on anyone know?? Getting a bit frustrating because today was mean't to be start up day!!!

Mak... a motorcycle battery needs to be kept fully charged. It's not like a car battery that holds charge for ages... if it has been used rarely the chances are it's dropped below it's rechargeable voltage. It's been spoke about extensively on the other thread... HERE

M8 - you need a BRAND NEW battery that you activate yourself - or a battery that has been maintained properly otherwise your problems will never be solved. It's not worth the hassle.. we've been there and done that - put us back about 3 weeks!

My entire street should be hearing a blade engine roar shortly!

BTW: Anyone hear own the Locost I parked beside at Halfords in MK at 4??

£40 - they can be had for £25. Still, I guess the money wasted is worth it when it fires up
