Misfire

Hi all!!

did a trackday at Cadwell yesterday and found when warm and at 5000rpm i had a misfire would drop onto 2-3 cylinders then if i kept revving it would clear and run sweet. I checked everything over and found two large cracks in the dizzy cap. My question is would these two cracks cause a intermittant misfire.

Many thanks Gary

More than likely. I had a car that did the same and that was a cracked cap.

If the cap's cracked it's a wonder it doesn't misfire all the time.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Swap the cap and rotor arm together when you do the job, it's not worth trying to save on.
