ford mondeo speed sensor

Hi there

I have just gotten a speed sensor from a ford mondeo from the scrappers, £2 - bargain!

This has three wires coming from it and i was wondering if anybody knew which wire is which, i.e. +ve, earth, and signal? I am trying to wire this to a VDO speedo...

thanks for any help

james

I am pretty sure this is right - my notes are a bit sketchy.

Black/brown - +ve
Yellow/brown - Signal
Brown - earth

Best way to check is to use a small 9v battery as a power source and put a multimeter on the signal terminal - you should see pulses as you rotate the shaft.
