Dim Dip relay
I'm a bit confused about head lights.
in the wiring diagrams for a sierra there is a dim dip relay and a dimmer switch, not sure what this is all about.
on the first click of the light switch, obviously side, tail and plate lights come on. all good
on the second click, power goes to both the dimmer switch and the dim dip relay.
i think the dimmer switch is the confusing bit cos i cant work out why it has outputs to the high beam relay and the dip beam relay, except obviously
to power them as well. where is the dimmer switch? does it mean the light stalk?
i have just clicked that all three relays (dimdip, dip and high) recieve power from the ignition relay, so the signals from the dimmer switch
undoubtedly control the relays. and i can see how the dash full beam warning works.
this boils down to the dimmer switch, as once this is clear i can probably work out all the other relays, so once again to sum it up:
does the dimmer switch mean pulling the indicator stalk!?!

Don't be confused!! 
"Dim-dip" was a bright idea from a few years ago, where you couldn't drive on sidelights only.
You sat in the car and turned the sidelights on. When you started the engine the dipped headlights came on automatically, but not as bright as if you
switched them on with the stalk.
I don't know how they're wired, but there must be some connection to the ignition switch somehow, triggering the conversion from side to
dim-dip headlights.

Bin the dim dip relay and do it the easy way you don't need it anyway. It fed a low current to the dip beam through a relay and resistor when
the sidelights and ignition are on together and cut it when the ignition went off leaving sidelights only.
