windscreen wiper motor wiring

Have just fitted new wiper motor 2 speed L/h park Wiring from motor 1 yellow 1 blue 1 red , Have got 2 speed working but is not parking, am I something missing? any help & advice much apprieciated.

the something that is missing is that the motor has mechanism inside which result in a live wire until the wipers park.

this live needs t o go to the switch wchih in turn feed the motor with power. this allows the motor to be on long enough until it parks, even if you open the switch.

that is how the land Rover ones work and I guess the principle is the same for other wiper motors.

You should connect it so that when (and only when) the stalk or switch is at wipers off, the live park wire goes to the slow speed terminal. As already mentioned, the park wire supplies the juice until the wipers are parked then the park wire switches off.

The wiper park switch does hold a trap for the unwary, it switches between 12V and deck so that the motor stops sharpish at the park position. So it IS possible to wire it wrong in a way that blows fuses a lot......
I'm about to wire mine up & it looks as though the lucas 2speed motor connects nicely to the sierra stalks - anybody care to comment?
