On the insurance trail
well i spent the last couple of hours on ringing insurance companies and i came up with some very interesting results, considering i am under 25 i was
expecting to pay around the £400 mark for my insurance, hear are my results
Adrian Flux = £584 - i couldn't believe my ears and a quick, "i'll get back to you was in order"
Osbourne & Sons = £378 (in the region of what i was expecting)
Sureterm direct (my previous insurer) = £481 then when i told them i had a lower quote they dropped it to £398 (still higher than Osbourne &
Sons & xs was put up by £100)
Grayham Sykes = £370
still thinking that these were a bit on the high side i rang heritage classic car insurance, they said £180! bonus i'll take it, 'oh
sir can i take your age' the girl says, 'sure im 24', oh im affraid we can't insure you if you are under 25, major bummer! i
was well happy with that quote, i tried to persaude her to insure me as im 25 in a couple of months!
then i did a google search and came across a company called quoterack (01945 465 508)@ quoterack.co.uk. rang them up and had a chat with a bloke
called Gary, absolutely smashing bloke and did me an awesome quote of £253 with me and my dad on the car 3000, full comp, legal cover breakdown cover
the whole sha-bang. was well happy, he said next year my premium would probably be around £150,
if you are looking for cheap insurance make sure you give this guy a call.
im dead chuffed, first quote of 550 odd quid and for just an hour or so's work i saved £300, bonus, it pays to shop around!

Thats brill. I've been doing the same myself recently for my new car.
Insurance does my head in. I've been driving for 4 years without incident (I know this isnt a huge number in the scheme of things, but it places
me out of the "immediate crash danger" category). I pay £750 a year on my Focus, and when I tried to change this to my new car they were
going to charge £1400 a year!
I dont want to change companies as its only 3/4 months until a get another year of no claims but I rang around and ended up with a quote of £560 from
esure - one of the main dealers who actually specialise with people who have more no claims than I do!

i spent all day phoning insurance compaines, trying to get a qoute for my insurance, only got two compaines which would insure me, but i save £1600 as
my first qoute was £2600 from Adrian Flux and footman james where£1000, which i was realy happy with seeing that at the start of the build i was
aiming to pay around £900.

Cheers for the info, I will be insuring mine again in the next couple of weeks and need some extra names for the phoning round.
Paid around £350 last time around a year ago. Hoping to get under the £300 mark this year, better postcode and removal of points should help. Although
ive got a few months before I get to 25 too.

I had been with Frizzell, now Liverpool Victoria, for many years as I get a good discount being a member of the Civil Service Motoring Association.
Then one year, the premiums went sky high. I 'phoned then and asked why and got the usual 'rising costs, overheads, uninsured drivers,
people making civil claims etc.., so I 'phoned around and got a better deal. The day before my insurance was due to expire, I got a 'phone
call from LV to tell me that my insurance was about to expire and that unless I had cover elsewhere, then I'd be without cover. I explained that
I had arranged cover with Performance Direct for just over half of the renewal cost quoted by LV. Suddenly, my renewal went from £680 down to £275!!!
WTF!!

Now i've been driving 12 years have 10 years no claims bonus. Clean licence accident free, work as a lorry driver, 28, married, with kids. Drive
an 04 plate 1400cc auto honda civic. And i pay 400 c year fully comp, and that quote was the cheapest i had by over 200 quid, and the second cheapest
i had was 90 quid cheaper than the next. Insurance is a complete 'pregnant fish' but its a requirement so were stuck with it.
And with that rant over well done on getting an awesome quote.
