Im off to france in a couple of days, and will be driving an XK8 Jag,
I do not know were to start on changing the headlights to dip to the right, as the lights appear to be a projector type ?
and well hidden in the body work
any idea's
Also, i do not need to drive at night, so should i convert them or not, as friends tell me they have never bothered ?
I doubt any continentals would bother when coming to the UK

I've never bothered with beam benders when going abroad, but it's worth noting that you do have a legal requirement to keep items such as a
flourry jacket and warning triangle in the boot in vase of breakdown! Guessing Jag's already have them, but worth a check.
PS - don't use radar detectors over there either, as they're illegal and you'll get it confiscated and an on the spot fine!
The problem with not doing anything is if you get stopped by the police at best they'll give you a fixed penalty even if it's during the day.
most cars with projector lights have the facility to twist the housing on the back of the lamp to change the dip pattern. check your user manual thing that came with the car
Thanks, all
Its not my car, and the lights are not standard 1999 model, and the handbook does not cater for them
Steve
I have continental lamps on my kit which are turned through 12 degrees to meet uk requirements passes IVA and test no problems
Personally, I've never bothered with the beam deflectors whilst driving in France, as most of the driving was done in daylight hours. IME, the
gendarmerie don't usually bother English motorists. Just be careful when you are coming out of Calais and observe the speed limits......

Last time we went we didn't bother, and no-one gave a carp...
