perksy - 2/9/11 at 07:07 PM

Had a mate pose me a question, which i'm buggered if i know the answer to tbh

If he puts his car in for an MOT 3 months before his current MOT expires and it were to fail
Does it become an MOT failure immediately OR does it still have a current MOT with 3 months to run ?

Answers on a postcard please

Cheers

The current MOT is still valid BUT he may be driving an unroadworthy car which is an offence if caught or involved in an accident.

Especially with the way that the boys in blue have access to computerised records these days.

Bear in mind that, IF, the vehicle has a recorded fail against it, then, technically the insurance is in-valid.
