Anyone out there used this service?

Basically you pay them £50 to MOT your car and if it fails on a list of "non-wear and tear" items then they cover the repair costs.

I don't get my car serviced by Audi, but it is according to their recommendations so it seems to be eligible.

This would seem to cover me for up to £750 on a whole bunch of things. Given that an MOT test costs about £50 anyway where is the catch?

The catch I would suggest is in the phrase "non wear and tear", this could cover just about everything which your likely to fail an MOT for.

I would want to see a specific list of what is and isn't covered, are you sure that the £50 isn't in addition to the MOT fee which is currently £54.85 ?

Seems to cover some of the more likely fails but it's still a waste of money

To be eligable your car must be less than 10 years old, less than 150,000 miles on the clock, and have had it's last service in line with manufacturers recomendations.

If the above are all true (especially the servicing part) then it shouldn't fail an MOT.

buy a Jap car and you'll just breeze through MOT's

So basically during a service Audi will have you pay to fix/replace any defective parts that might cause your car to fail am MOT and then MOT the car when it's due..................which it should never fail. Sounds like money for old rope

Does seem like a bargain.

Maybe they take the view that things like wheel bearings, catalysts and suspension components should last for 150k miles and so they have a duty to replace them FoC. Sounds a lot like corporate responsibility, which is a bit rare these days.

Surprised no-one here has used it.
