A couple of the pictures are of Baby Bertha at Ingliston as it was in the 1970s they taken at the end of the Esses and entry to Caravan, I was probably almost exactly at that spot on the day, I recall Gerry having a ding dong battle with Bill Dryden and Doug Niven both of whom had the advantage of local knowledge.

Gerry was one hell of a driver his book "Only Here for the Beer" is worth reading.

I had the pleasure of chatting with the late great Gerry Marshall in the Clerk of the Course's 'waiting room' at Silverstone in the early 90's. We'd both been 'bad lads' on track and were waiting to get our knuckles rapped He asked me what I'd done and if it was my first time in front of the COTC? I explained the incident and that it was indeed my first time to which he replied "Don't worry lad, I'm always in here" I seem to remember he was driving a TVR that day. Top bloke!!

That took me back a bit! My second car was a Firenza and a chap where I did my apprenticeship was always telling me about Gerry Marshall and Baby Bertha. Obviously it was well before the internet and finding out about the man and the car was not easy. Great video and the character he was in that was exactly as he'd been described to me.

If having a paunch would make you a good driver, I am taking up champion pie eating. Sadly thats not the case as the man was a pure genius.
