May have an italian guy who wants to buy my part built westfield mazda kit to take back and register in italy.
Does anyone know what sort of uk paperwork he would need to do this or alrternatively if he just took it as a track car.

If it's not registered then technically it's not a car, is it? From your point of view, I would think you could just sell it to him as "legally) a pile of bits and pieces; what he has to do in Italy to get it registered is his problem.

If it's part built (and not registered) it isn't legally a car yet so; I wouldn't have thought much more than a receipt would be required. I don't know how advanced your build is but unless its obviously not road ready then I'd state that very clearly on the receipt.

Sell as parts only.

I had an Italian chap buy my XK8 off Ebay, complete nightmare as he wanted to arrange collection on a returns lorry so expected me to drive it to a car recovery firm, load it onto their flat bed truck then drive it from this on to his 'cheap lorry' so told him to get stuffed.

Not a good experience, find out how he is collecting before agreeing.

I recall seeing a poster on Locost (Indy owner I think) who was based in Italy. He made the point that for a UK kit-car to be put on the road legally in Italy, it must be built and IVA'd in UK first. If your chap buys from you in kit form, that would indicate he wants it for track use only.

In any event, I'd echo the opinions of other posters. Sell him the bits and the rest is up to him.

Agree, just sell it with receipt, nothing more needed.

I know he sold his Spire to some guy in Italy. Think there is a number of do's and dont's to help make sure things go smoothly.

He did tell me that some guy guy turned up in an artic lorry, which cause traffic chaos. If its the same guy buying, i think its perfectly legit.
