when it was exciting with RS500, renault laguna, volvo T5, alfa's and the odd mondeo with nigel mansell driving

full on balls out racing
in todays environment there would be a stewards enquiry every 2 minutes!

Those were the days. I remember watching that 850 volvo go off, live, when I were just a lad.

Gotta love Murray Walker in the second video......."and Cleland says I'm going for first!" as he gives Soper the bird.

Strangly I watched the 1998 one at work on saturday just searching for Mansell vids. Great stuff.

Search for the BTCC at the Birmingham super prix, I think the 1990 ones were the best ones with lots of Seirras.

touring cars was much better with saloons.

and what was even better is that you didn't have Jason f'kin Plato popping up every two minutes to rant on (and on) about how it isn't fair he can't win without trying.........

Mind you it is quite surprising to see how long he has been in BTCC - difference being I imagine is that in his early days John Cleland and the like would have taken him behind the pit garages for a bit of a 'talking to' if he acted like he does now

great to see again and brings back memmories, but whats the music on the first video all about! i can see why when on youtube people over dub thinks like track days with some rock song
