I'm putting the suspension back together on my amazon. I've only got these type of compressors:
and there is zero access to use them as the crossmember is part of the suspension, I can't compress the springs on my workbench then bring them
over to fit. How can I compress the springs? Is there another kind of compressor I can use?

The crossmember isn't on the car i'll do something like ratchet strap it all down and then use a
jack
Ratchet strap = broken arms, they slip around and the spring unloads itself upon you.
You need to use a tool that goes through the centre of the wishbone and bolts the assembly together, you could probally make something out of some
heavy duty studding and some angle.
Have a google for jag front spring compression tools.
It would drop through the shock hole at the top, straddle the bottom, then as you compress you can knock the ball joints in

have done that this to various stuff before .sounds a bit iffy but works.use our compressors as mush as possthen use jubiee clips (lots) only on two coils though then back tool off and relocate to another coil and recompress use more jubilee clips till you get right length,wheni have spring back in i don't bother to undo clips just cut with tin sips.
Just got in from the garage. I turn the crossmember upside down, sat on it, clamped an old garage door arm to the wishbone for leverage, used my boot
on the wishbone too and pushed it down whilst my girlfriend slid the bolt in. ^_^
