Can't help on whether it's bent or not.
If its failed because the casting pressing holding the pivot into the main body has worn away drill two small holes into the housing and tightly
(and/or thread-lock) screw in self-tapping screws either side to so the screw heads replace the pressing.
Did this on a Passat pump years ago and it ran forever.

If you mean the pin itself, obviously it should be absolutely straight and it should slide in and out smoothly ooer missus. The pin should poke out at
an angle that roughly matches the angle of the fuel pump base.
