Anyone know of anywhere selling exhaust valves of the sort Aston etc use to clear their throats at high loads? Just curious really.
Que?
When you said "not that sort" it thought you weren't thinking of car exhausts.. Now you're telling me they have valves to help you
clear your throat? I've got Lockets on my mind now....
Brrrraaaaaaaaa!!!! *drops locket in petrol tank* Brmmmmmmmmmmm......
I'm really curious as to what an exhaust valve is now
I think Rally design sell some exhaust diverter valves that are cable operated if that's the sort of thing you mean.
Paul
Not 100% sure about AML, but ones I have seen on similar cars are vacuum activated bypass valves at the silencer end.
I have a vacuum operated exhaust diverter valve if its any good to you? Seems to be a heavy bit of kit!
Do you mean something like the Yamaha EXUP (other manufacturers are available
) type thing ??

They have a couple of options.
Wow, what a set of replies! Sorry, didn't realise the initial post was as confusing as it is - lack of coffee to blame there. But glad to see a
bunch of people got the idea! Cheers for the links, I'll go trudging around them for a while to see what I can see. I was considering an optional
"straight pipe" solution for fun times while keeping the car pleasant for long runs, but if it's got a massive weight penalty fixed to
it I'll deal with a fairly quiet car.
Ta again, knew I could trust the hive mind!
The valve I have has a heavy vacuum unit on the side but if you binned that and just had a solenoid or cable operation, it would be doable. I'll try to remember to take some piccies tomorrow.
