Hi all
Ive got to change the rear pads on my 2008 ford mondeo,
are they normal screw in brake pistons ?

ISTR Mondeo 4 is conventional --- ie similar to Sierra, and most Rover so just run back the handbrake and take the lid off the reservoir before
you start.
Personally these days I clamp the flex hose and open the nipple to let out the fluid rather than push it back through the ABS system but thats just
me being over cautious.
Thanks
Steve
Yeah the Mk3 book I have warns to do the clamp thing because it can turn something inside out (some sort of valve iirc) and the brakes are jiggered.
On the Mk3, if you don't clamp the flexi pipe and undo the bleed nipple, the pressure when winding in the pistons can flip the seals in the
master cylinder.

Not sure about the mk iv but the mk iii had issues with the handbrake cables seizing.
Could be worth while inspecting and greasing them whilst you are there.
