Peugeot Citroen Jag V6 3.0l Diesel

Working myself up to a treat and thinking about buying an XF.

Anything known here on the engines? I tend to hold on to my cars for 7 or 8 years and do well above average mileage so engine life is a consideration.

How is this engine considered generally?

Anything else I should look out for in an XF?

Cheers!

This must the replacement for the 2.7 v6 twin turbo developed by Ford and Peugeot.
I had an S-type with this engine, covered 70k in four years with no problems whatsoever.
It was an absolute delight to drive - brisk but a quiet motorway cruiser too.

If the 3 litre is as good it'll be a cracking engine.

as far as i know the 3.0l is a unit designed and made by landrover/jaguar. in the range rover its THE engine to have, better on fuel than the 2.7 and nearly as pokey as the tdv8.

Find out what injector/ECU technology it has, this is when repairing diesels gets really expensive if things go wrong.

Our neighbours have an XF.

It's a lovely thing.

They do seem to have the occasional bout of the alarm throwing hissy fits and making a racket.

I'd have one purely for the delights of the startup sequence.
