Our local warden who was actually very fair is a PCSO now and gets paid more for getting less abuse, no one has been taken on to replace him though and parking in Grantham in restricted areas seems the norm now.

They wear stab vests in London, enough said !

That's not new, but at least some councils are removing that quota.

Thing is what happens if there aren't anyone parking illegally?

True but what I'm saying is if everyone becomes scared of the draconian traffic wardens and don't put a foot out of line because they'll fine you if they do, what happens to these traffic wardens when parking violations stop? I've seen two of them arguing over who gets to issue the ticket!

Much maligned people - come a cropper with them a few times myself. However look at the state of the place now there isnt many.


Big cities use them to generate money, zero tolerance and hated.



But the genuine article with the yellow band hat is a rare beast, leaving anywhere other than the big cities to become choked with lazy bastards parking anywhere while they do a spot of shopping.



Another public service chopped, never to be replaced.
