Hi Folks,
I was very lucky to have for my 50th birthday seated tickets for Silverstone this July from SWMBO all three days!! As a life long fan of F1 this is
very exciting as I've not been to a GP before.
At this point we have no accommodation or parking - so I'm looking for advice on where best to stay regarding getting into and out of the
circuit.
Or is there anyone out there willing to rent a room/en-suite for 3 nights for 2 people, and/or looking to share parking costs/driving into the
circuit?
Looking to stay from Thursday night to Saturday night (5/6/7 July), driving home after the race.
many thanks
Ian
take a tent and camp - you wont regret it .....
we have been going to silverstone for the f1 the past 20 years (on and off - mostly on)
tent and camp is the cheapest and most fun way.............no driving in and out of the circuit. plenty of drinking!!
just a bit crap if it rains, but then we usually drink more to numb the rain.
driving in and out is much easier now with the dual carriageway and one way system set up for race day.
if you are planning on stopping in a hotel / guest house forget anywhere within a 10 mile raduis of the circuit.
the premier / holiday / travel lodge put their prices up 200% - 300% higher than a normal weekend rate.
last year we stopped in northampton and drove in. about 25 minutes drive so was pretty easy.
why not treat yourself for your 50th and be helicoptered in like the rich and famous!!
I am saving up to do this one day.
