Nitro RC car

I have just been given one for free. Its a monster truck 4x4, and its never been used, but I have never used one before.
Where is the best place to by the fuel. Also, any tips and advice on using one as apparently it can do 50mph.

Nice, what is it?

Local hobby shop should be able to help with fuel..

I had a few HPI savage trucks over the years, brilliant fun if you could get the nitro engine to run properly...

nice,

if its new the engine needs to be run in with fuel with more castor oil in it and lower nitro content,
Once run in you can run it on the full bore juice!
I never manage to run mine without busting something! so its normally sat on the shelf broken
Enjoy, large open areas with very few people is best! skate parks when there empty can be fun to!

Fuel, as said, local model shop (anywhere that sells the cars typically) and expect them to ask what % nitromethane you want. 15-25% is common for cars.

I assume its run in rather than new, but if not, theres plenty of info on the various ways people have found works.

What is the car?
- Most of mine are quite old now, but the are cracking fun and will go forever as long as you can still get parts.

As said, model shops will sell you nitro fuel. I have a HPI MT2 which is a 4x4 stadium truck. Ive had it from new, about 7 years ago. I run the engine in following instructions, and not really used it since! Hoping my 6 yr old lad takes some interest so I have an excuse to go for a bash over the skate park!

I dont know if the engine is run in or not, and I wont be able to find out. Previous owner has passed away 2 years ago.
So it has been sat doing nothing.
Am I wright in thinking the lower percentage Nitro is best for running the engine in, and how long is running the engine in going to take.
Thanks
Brad.

I also remember you run it a lot richer for the first 4/5 runs and then gradually lean it out over the next few runs to get max power!
