Companys that want our custom ?
steve m - 11/5/12 at 06:10 PM

There are numerous threads, about company "a" are poor, or failed to deliver or .....................

what about a list of companys in a seperate area on this site, who supply , offer services etc
we the users, could then decied what type of service we were after, and what did we actually get
We could give feedback, and add points etc

For instance, there is a suplier of locost stuff on this site who is an appaling excuse of a "supplier" who never does supply or answer the phone, or reund or....................

So he would be at the bottom of the chain, and hopefully go out of buisness, due his failuer to comply with the "norm"

Only an idea!

But i would welcome any suppliers to comment

Certainly a list of suppliers would be good, I caught a fleeting glimpse of someone who can make up roll cages for decent prices, and now I can't find it at all!

Whether it would be appropriate to grade them I'm not as sure, the internet can be remarkably unfavourable for very little reason.

This has been suggested before but is a bit of a legal minefield as some of the "less efficient" suppliers have sued other forum owners and the person who wrote the liable.
It can also tend to get rather political with satisfied owners being upset when their baby is slandered by someone who suggests the engineering is less than perfect.

Slimy38 - I think you probably mean this thread

IMHO it would detract from the very healthy forum, which tends to highlight highlight good/bad service via normal posting.

Any rating system would (again IMHO) generate slanging matches and probably end up with suppliers being treated harshly. As mentioned above, the internet is unbelievably quick to chastise.

A few years ago I bought a Mk4 Golf and I started frequenting Golf forums. Being new to forums I was horrified to see hundreds of people complaining about the car. I put up a post saying 'if this car is so unreliable should I get rid quick as you all seem to be constantly complaining about it'. One fella posted saying 'the forum would be quite dull if everyone posted up 'no problems with my car today'.

I think the only way to do as suggested is to have section that a company can be entered and then we can give them a score (1-10) and then their average score is displayed. This would allow business to 'up their game' and not be burdened by a single angry customer who posts about how crap they are all the time.

I think, some of you are looking to far at the negatives, and if Said company wanted to participate there would be a board
of suppliers names, and what the sell, perhaps doing a search, say for exhausts, would bring up some company names
then we could choose who we would like to buy from, by there effectivness in customer care and welfare

There are company names we see on here all the time, that firstly would not participate, due there incompetance to supply anything for years on end, or customer care, they will slowley go down the pan and dissapear, so not a bad thing

The one name on here, who one of our members strongly supports, is "***" (ish) and has dreadfull feadback, yet we see on a monthly basis, that some poor bugger from our site , has handed over a load of cash to this criminal, and will lose there patience and money over a long period of time

How can we allow that to happen, to our friends ?

I have my own way of dealing with someone who has either ripped me off, or done a bad deed against my family
involves bleach and there prized lawns, and every day they have to look out of the window to see my message

Really...?

You've really found out where someone live's, been round to their house (presumably under cover of darkness) where their family live with a a bottle of Domestos and poured it over their lawn to produce a written message?

....Really?

B0LL0CKS!!!

You don't know what he does or doesn't do in his free time. After a comment like that he's probably been round your house and bleached 'Really....?' in your lawn. In fact judging by your locations it's very possible.

Wether you do or you don't, admitting to criminal damage on an open forum could end badly in either case.
