i have a oil leak from this 'is it oil filter housing?' on the rear of the my Vectra CDTi engine and it drips on the exhaust making it smoke, should it have a pipe on it or something keeping it away from the exhaust or should it not drip oil?

just an oil filter drain point as you undo the filter it drain's the oil out of the filter.there are 2 o rings on the filter cap maybe they need replacing.

Helps when changingthe oil filter if you put a piece of hose over it to drain the oil from the housing when lid is cracked off , as said change the "o" rings when changing the filter
