SVA/IVA CERTs

Hi Guys,

Do the DVLA keep you SVA certs when registering your car to get your V5 issued?

if they don't keep it, is it a problem when buying a second hand kit car that the SVA cert is not present?

All the best

Alex

Pretty sure its taken by the DVLA, so if the cars registered it shouldnt have one anyway.

The DVLA keep the IVA(SVA) certificate. I scanned mine and framed is it for posterity, it hangs framed in the office.

No problem buying/selling second hand as it is registered with a V5C.

When i got mine registered at the DVLA i asked them for a photo copy of the IVA certificate which they gave me.

Yes they take it; I made a copy for my records.

I guess it stops you cloning via paper work; but you would hope the DVLA check that the chassis number is unique!

They kept it with me, and i didnt get round to taking an copy unfortunately. Therefore dont worry about buying a IVA/SVA'd car with IVA/SVA Cert.

Yes the DVLA keep your MAC certificate / IVA report to process your car. Its like any other car for buying / selling in that you jest need a V5C.
