I came home tonight to find that the boot on the wife's Bmw mini cooper s wont lock. With the boot lid open I had a look at the latch which doesn't seem to be operating properly. It won't hold the boot shut and just moves back and forth with no resistance. I am assuming there is a solenoid which operates the latch which may be at fault. I will be removing the panels in the boot to investigate tomorrow but wondered if any one could suggest possible faults and remedies I can check out.
