We can't remember ever reading a press release in which the car company actually issues a warning to potential drivers, but DDMWorks' propaganda machine clearly states: “We strongly suggest our customers take a specialized driving course for their safety.” That just about sums this car up.

Honda used to offer this to Type R customers, in a bid to stop them wrapping it round lamposts iirc.

I heard the same thing about RX-8s too. A friend of mine had one and was amazed what the car could do in a 'safe' environment...

So how long do we reckon a 700 bhp ecotec will last before it turns into an expensive lump of shrapnel?

And whilst I like silly numbers and pub bragging as much as the next man, do you think they'll actually sell any, or is this more of a marketing exercise?

Is it me or is that getting a wee bit close to F1 numbers? What is the current F1 car, something like 400 kilo's and 800 horses?

No wonder they suggest some training, being able to get it moving without melting the tyres will be a challenge enough!

Bet a well developed chassis with half the power would still waste it on certain tracks.
It's too much power in a chassis that can't handle it.

You have reminded me when James May took the V8 for a spin, Jeremy 'I am a c**k' Clarkson commented on it's inability to turn on demand, with chronic understeer being the order of the day.

The Caterham Levante's and the Supercharged V6 engined Caterham's were all sold with you having to have at least two 2 hour sessions on how to drive them.

The Caterham that I was building was going to be in the region of 420 - 440 kilos and 600bhp. It's a shame that I have decided not to complete it as I was instructed to do a shakedown full days testing at Oulton Park when it was finished... Ah well, I'd rather have my health (or what's left of it) and my job/family/sanity etc than complete another build, even if it was a bit special...
