Video from Petrol Ped about the resurrection of Westfield.

Big takes for me are - looks like it uses a Durapower engine, big one is that looks like it is not available for home build and the price?

I didn't even realise Westfield had gone bust!

Looks nice but £52000 YIKES!

Yep, seems like crazy money for a Westy. No doubt they've got the car nicely sorted but when they get to a pricepoint where its similar to a Caterham surely most people after a turnkey seven-alike would go for the genuine one, if only for the much stronger residuals. I suppose taller people my be forced to their doors.

No home assembly options either. I guess this forum has a certain bias towards that aspect but surely for many the concept of building your own car is still a driver to purchase which Westfield will now exclude.

Given how much the likes of MK and GBS have moved their products forwards over the last few years I can't see them selling many but I do wish them well.

Nice car and I like the FW bodywork but the price, hmmmm

Just spec'd a Caterham 420R (210hp duratec + LSD) and that is £42k without options, add some nice bits and even with £5k (incl £2.5k factory build) of options that is £47k. This may or may not include VAT but even so - £52k Westie or a £55k (assume ex VAT price on configurator) Caterham, similar spec, I know which I would choose.

....................... or just buy the V8 Caterham Levante that is for sale at the moment for £50k !!!!!!

£52k

Much as I like the 7 style car I can think of others I'd want to buy and build myself for less money.

With any left over a holiday wouldn't be a problem
