Has anyone had or know anything about Darcia bigster suv,s or the duster
The bigster has a great boot for out dog to fit in and luggage at holiday times
I have a Astra at the moment but have to take a trailer on holidays

Think you mean Dacia? Basically Renault hardwear but with less refinement to interiors which can be a bit plastic. We don't see many issues with them. Good value gor money if you font need luxury.

Plastic is sometimes better with a dog for cleaning
I have seen all the web about them but would like to hear more about how good or bad they are + which engine model etc

I've known a few people with them and they really like them. However they did really bad in crash tests, I'm sure the duster got a zero at one point. They look very cheap with so much plastic but you should be able to get a decent cheap second hand one. My family has a Suzuki Vitara which is actually really well built (I service it), but it is full of cheap plastic and really is no bigger than your Astra inside despite the height. For your purpose maybe a decent estate car might be better as they actually tend to be a lot bigger inside than most of the SUV's? This country is not very good for proper station wagons, one thing that America beats us at. For luggage I just have a big roof box, dog sits in the boot.

We looked at the Jogger when auditioning 7 seaters. - It felt to me like it was a rental car, like when we went on holiday to Spain in the 80s/90s and you got a base spec Nova or a Panda, everything was cheap and plasticky.
I recognised all the controls, they were all recycled from my late 00s renaults. Even the stereo was the basic you can hope for, you pretty much a had a radio and plug for you phone.
Good value if you want no frills motoring.

They solid underneath, all renault mechanically, I quite like that, being a fan of the 00s/10s Clios and Meganes

I had a Dacia Logan from new for 3 & 1/2 years, it was the top of the range Laureate diesel, did about 27,000 miles with it, never missed a beat, nice car to drive & like a Tardis, it was huge inside considering it's based on a Clio floorpan!

I never reset the trip computer in the whole time I had it & for all of those miles the AVERAGE MPG was 59.7 IIRC, considering there was a fair bit of town =driving in that including London on occasions, I think that's pretty impressive

the interior was fairly basic, but certainly showed no signs of wear when I sold it, the car still looked & drove like brand new, never did anything other than service it.

They're nothing like as cheap as they were back in 2014 when I bought that & they were trying to make a big impression on the EU market, but they are still relatively cheap compared to other makes & I'd say the build quality was probably better than most Renaults I've driven!

I bought a cheap tailored to fit plastic floormat for the boot area, something like that is ideal if you have a dog! & also added a top of bumper vginyl protector which saved the top of the bumper getting rubbished.
