The amount of discount varies with the type of goods.
Tools give 20% oils about 30% cleaning products zilch.

I've never had 45% off anything.

Halfords seem to be gradually getting out of the car parts business.

Halfords prices especially special offers are at bes smoke and mirrors. Best place to buy oil is Morrisions petrol stations 5ltr 5w/50 fully synthetic Havoline Energy 17 quid -- no mistake it is big brand fully synthetic the feed stock is made using a different process from Mobile 1. I have been using it for a few years and it dosen't carbonise like part synthetic oil and engine internals remain amazingly clean.

Halfords charge 24.99 for own brand (made by Comma) 5w/30 part synthetic.

I have one and most things like paint and wot not only have 10%.

Bought one of them power packs that had £30 off and got another 33% off!

Bought some of them fancy Bosch 4 probe plugs the other day and got them for £13 instead of £21.

Well worth having one imo.

They have beaten all my trade contacts recently, if you've got a trade card try them for parts.

45% works on things like Bulbs, wipers and batteries. Everything else is about 20% and brings it pretty much in line with camberley autofactors.

Anyone can get one.
- Walk in with a stack load of car part recpiets and just say 'i work on cars lots and i want a trade card' and your in.

I gave them a bit of a story about having left uni and wanting a year away from it all and was working on people cars and doing basic tuning work as i happened to have a printed sheet of cams i'll been looking at in amongst the recepts i'd picked up off the floor. All made up on spot.

I nicked a treolley from Matalan next door and wandered in and started to fill it up, the manager swiftly bumbled over askign me what I was doing, explained I was building a kitcar and he gave me a card there and then.

you'll probably find its a lot harder to get a card now - they're really cracking down and want to see that you're actually a professional in the trade. Too many people have wandered in and got them.

(heard that after i'd tried to get a card. Wandered in in oil covered overalls on a Saturday afternoon looking harassed. Asked about a number of parts and a discount card. Explained i was setting up in business and got told - turn up with business documentation and mechanics qualification)

that is a stupid and sort sighted IMO.

they must still be making profit albeit not as much but if you don't buy from them then they make no profit.

you don't need a harvard business degree to figure out what is best to keep trading. muppets!"

i made a letterhead on excel, stick your name and address on it, same as the one on your invoices and say you're self employed.

if you're self employed, you don't need the motor industry qualifications.

they don't do them for bulk parts users anymore, you have to be in the trade, which your letterhead proves.....obviously

it's why me and avoneer have trade cards after my dad lost my old one.
