Random spark plug problem
My dad has an old MGB and recently he had a problem where it wouldnt start. I took a look and it didnt seem to be getting a spark. We changed the coil
and the condensor and it was still the same, in the end I traced it to two dead spark plugs. One new set of plugs and it started almost straight away.
The car has been fine for a couple of weeks but at the weekend it started running rough and then wouldnt start again, i've just had a look and
again number 2 and 3 plugs are dead?!
What on earth would cause this sort of problem? I put it in a couple of old plugs of the same sort and again the car now runs.
On the dead plugs there are no cracks in the ceramic or any other visible damage, they just wont spark.

All the plugs are very black and sooty, its overfueling quite a lot and needs a good setup

that could be your problem.
lay the dodgy plugs on the head and spin the engine over (turn fuel off first)do the plugs spark?,have a close look at the insulator,is it tracking
down there?
electricity will always fine the easiest path to earth, jumping a gap is hard work
