I was at Castle Combe last year and a very flashy truck spat two out into the paddock, team colours etc etc. By far the least impressive cars of the day, pretty much everything made them look slightly sluggish. The Japanese should really look to Europe for inspiration rather than America if they want to go quickly on anything other than a drag strip. It was lovely to see a 35 year old Lotus Europa running rings around them (and pretty much everything else for that matter)

Now That! would have like to have seen.
I owned an Europa 12 years. Had the chassis out on 2 separate 'total' rebuilds.
I fitted 4 different engines.
The Thing eventually evolved into a Race Ready machine, with a Renault R12 based engine for a 'real' 180 hp.. Not the BS lotus numbers bandied about for their underperforming engines..
I truly hated that 'europa' .. it was a wee poor substitute for my much loved but long gone S3 Seven 'racer'
Just kept it out of pure stubborness as I kept trying to 'fix' it's inherent crappiness.
Hard to believe one of those excreable things could Trounce very much at all on any Racetrack..
Unless the other cars had flat tires and /or damaged motors.

Thats the sort of stuff you find 7 levels down under Casino Square, Monaco. Those were just the first 2 spaces we found... honest.

Well on track the GTR isn't that quick, There is such a huge difference between a track car and a road car. On actual roads i know for a fact that a GTR will be quicker than a pagani. On track no where close.

I bet some of the kits on here are quicker than a GTR round the track but after all its not meant to be a trackday, its meant to be an everyday extremely fast car that has very awesome electronics to make it easy to drive fast.

just found it on supercars.net.
2011 nissan GTR 7 mins 24 secs
fastest caterham i could see was r500 at 7mins 55 secs
not a bad lap time for the GTR. faster than the enzo and other mch more exotic supercars!
0-60 in 3.1 secs. not bad for a sluggish car

no your probably right eddie. especially on a tight short track where it cant really use its power to the same effect as a fast circuit like the ring! i would say your race car would a match through the corners

They are awesome cars that'll leave every car on here for dead on the roads and a lot/most tracks too. 4wd allowing them to power out of the tightest/slowest of corners.

Lets not start comparing cars to bikes, they're chalk and cheese. Bikes take much more skill to pilot quickly than cars, there's not the same amount of space for error. the 4 huge contact patches at each corner are more than a help when in a car. Bikes amazingly cheap for what you get performance wise.

I'm quite jealous about having a ride in a GTR, it must be awesome to have that sort of power/pace that you can use on the road. Was it one of the newer cars with launch control and 550+bhp?

Skylines

Are these the same type of cars?

I was at Brands a couple of years ago and we had some close stuff as it was drying out at the end of the day.

I was running a set of rings in!!

Nissan

Not quite the same, the gtr is the replacement for the skyline but designed to handle much much better.

Have you got a test date for yours yet?

Take the screen off and fit a bike engine, imagine how fast it'd be then
