Clutch kits (brands on ebay)
Has anybody purchased "cheap" clutch kits from ebay, and if so any experience of sellers that are recommended / best avoided would be
useful
I need to do a clutch swap on a 1998 Passat tdi, it's only 90hp and will only ever be driven in "sensible mode". If clutch lasts 50k
I'll be happy, original has been on for 213k now and is riding a bit high!!!
It seems they range from about £65 to double that for a QH clutch - is the difference worth it on the opposite of one would call a "performance
motor"?
Car is only worth a couple hundred quid so the lower the cost the better!!

I have bought a few clutch kits from ebay (sierra, mondeo, polo, clio) and have never been disappointed. Usually I have bought from ebay as I
don't have time (can't be arsed) to go to a motor factor, but I would recommend going to Partco or similar as they are usually just as
cheap if not cheaper...

Jabs, good news - cheapest I found was £50 odd quid from Victoria Autoparts on there.
Will give it a go.
How difficult of a job was it to swap?

"National" brand sold by many motor factors are fine,
I avoid using LUK clutches as I have seen a few with the centre of the driven plate suffering fractures due to fatigue.
