Best place to get a replacement key for Honda Jazz
As subject - my work colleague has a new-shape Honda Jazz (2010) and one of the keys has broken. The Honda main stealer wants c. £200 so he is looking
for a better (i.e. cheaper) way of replacing it.
Any thoughts?
TIA
Simon

dealer only i think.... sorry..
you maybe able to get them to order the wallet key and use that but they will need the proper key on the same keyring so it picks up the code.
Thanks

Don't be fobbed off( pun intended) the key is part of the cars security system, and as such is part of the car and comes under the cars
warranty, these are pan European warranties so they are liable.
I had a similar problem with a local Toyota dealer, they tried to get out of it because I imported the car myself from Holland, but I wasn't
having that.
But even out of warranty, if you go back to where you bought the car they are liable within the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (Section 14.2), they should
sort it out.
Never retreat
never surrender.
A bit theatrical, but bottom line is, the franchised dealers should sort it FOC

Exactly. Sales of goods act etc etc. Most people would expect a car key to last more than a year therefore the key is not up to a reasonable standard
therefore it should be replaced or repaired FOC.

Try the dealer again for warranty. The key should last the life of the vehicle ideally. They should pay. if after a year its bust thats shit.
Failing that try klck.
