Yes, and, No.

It is a piece of A4 paper that is supplied to the test centres by the Ministry, BUT, it is (more importantly to the powers that be), a multi agency checkable piece of centrally stored electronic (and to degree, personal) data.

yeah got mine done today, was a little disappointed. No sticker on it anymore for putting on the windscreen. I always forget about MOT's at the best of times!

Really annoying bit is the advisories are now printed on the main form.

Ah, but you can sign up for their text reminder service. But it will cost you...

Last time I got one (and it stayed stuck all year) the ink had faded so I couldn't read it anyway!

And available online going back about 5 years, open to anyone who has had sight of any of those certificates!

They have to buy their own now. My mate at the bike shop has a testing facility and has to supply his own paper and also toner cartridges although VOSA did supply the printer.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

First thought that struck me when I saw the new ticket was "it looks sh*t" shortly followed by
how easy it would be to forge. Buy a piece of junk, "MOT" it and flog it on. Unless the buyer is
savvy enough to check on-line he thinks the car has a full ticket. The test stations even have a
facility to print blanks !

A stupid bit of costcutting in my opinion

Given the epic battles some of us go through to get some sheds/classics through an MOT, it's a bit underwhelming to receive one of the new "faxes". At least before one felt a bit more sense of accomplishment

Good for buyers, not so great for people selling.
