Yes I bet that goes well, they should have made the original MG TF look as good as that, I am sure they would have sold a lot more cars, and could have still been building them in the UK today

seems wrong with a cosworth engine though. surely they could have used a rover group engine. either a tuned k or kv6

No

Supercharged kv6 was around 245bhp. One was built to around 280 and the BTTC 2.0 kv6 on Tb's was said to be sub 300bhp

The T series has made 400 with forged pistons, rods and a big turbo.

Actually I agree with that, and that SV-something that I saw on Top Gear and nowhere else, that would have been awesome if made properly

K series can't endure 150HP before blowing gaskets and warping heads. i dread to think how long it wouldn't last with 400!

You obviously don't know very much about k series engines if you think that the fact it was doing 150 hp was the problem?!?
Do some research.

I never said a K could (or should) do 400HP btw

I hope nobody took it that I was implying that you said that, I was just idly wondering if a K series could ever hope to replace the engine in that car.

Being an ex K series Elise owner I'm well aware of the HGF problems although it never happened directly to me. All down to poor design of the cooling system rather than power. How else could it be such a bug bear for 118bhp Freelanders when with some mods to the cooling (and a lot on the internals) there were Elises with 250bhp on a K.

Regards,
Dave
